Melbourne Celebrated the 138th Birth Anniversary of Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra

Melbourne, 23 August 2026: The 138th birth anniversary of Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra was celebrated with devotion, spiritual reflection and cultural performances at Clayton Hall in Melbourne on Saturday, 22 August.

Matt Fregon, State Member for Ashwood and Deputy Speaker of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, attended the celebration as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Mr Fregon said it was a privilege for him to learn about Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra, his life, teachings and spiritual philosophy.

The celebration began at 4:00 pm with Sangeetanjali, featuring devotional music and cultural performances. Through music and artistic presentations, participants paid tribute to the life, teachings and enduring spiritual legacy of Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra.

A children’s Satsang was also held as part of the programme, giving younger participants an opportunity to learn about Sree Sree Thakur’s teachings in an engaging and meaningful way. The children took part in activities and presentations that encouraged them to develop compassion, discipline, respect and a spirit of service from an early age.

The programme also included a mothers’ conference, where participants reflected on the significant role of mothers in nurturing children, strengthening families and passing moral and spiritual values from one generation to the next. The session highlighted the importance of creating a loving, disciplined and value-based family environment.

The main Satsang Adhiveshan began at 5:30 pm, bringing devotees and members of the wider community together for spiritual discussion and reflection.

Subhash Nandi from Sydney and Bibek Nag participated as the principal speakers. They explored why people experienced complexities, conflict and emotional challenges in their lives, and discussed how those difficulties could be overcome.

The speakers explained how the philosophy of Sree Sree Thakur Anukulchandra could provide practical guidance in everyday life. They said his teachings encouraged self-discipline, compassion, service to others, harmonious relationships and purposeful living.

They also discussed why people needed a guru. The speakers described a guru as a spiritual guide who helped individuals develop clarity, remain connected to higher ideals and follow the right path during difficult and uncertain periods of life.

“God is one, Dharma is one, Prophets are the same, Servers of the One.”

The programme emphasised that conflict and hostility towards different prophets, faiths and spiritual traditions were contrary to the true essence of Dharma. It also highlighted Sree Sree Thakur’s teaching that people should treat others in the same way they wished to be treated themselves.

Organisers and speakers noted that practising these principles could promote mutual respect, affection and harmony within families and across the wider community.
